e are excited to welcome Mia Grant to our team for the summer. Mia will work alongside our US team in Holland, MI focusing on various initiatives that run through the summer.
Mia Grant is from Holland, Michigan, and is a rising senior at Liberty University in Virginia. She is pursuing a major in International Relations, Politics & Policy with a double minor in Spanish and Politics & Government. Mia is passionate about supporting and working with vulnerable communities, particularly orphans and widows. The opportunity to intern at The Humanity Share was a great fit as it aligns with her values and passions. During her internship, Mia is looking forward to learning more about how a non-profit runs and operates. Mia holds other passions for God, people, her family, and traveling - she has been to five different countries and lived in three out of the five. In the summer, Mia enjoys spending time at the beach and being out on the water.
We are looking forward to the value and experience Mia will bring to our team this summer!
My name is Makena Mugambi and I am glad for the opportunity to be working alongside The Humanity Share team in Kenya. I am from Nairobi, Kenya, and am passionate to see my generation being equipped and resourced through education, community, and leadership development. For the last five years, I lived in Holland, Michigan where I received my Bachelor's degree in Communication with a focus on Sociology and Organizational Leadership from Hope College. Following the completion of my degree, I joined the staff of the Phelps Scholars Program at Hope College. The Phelps Scholars Program is a first-year academic and residential life program for students in higher education seeking to grow in their connection with people from different backgrounds that hold different views. As I step into this role, I look forward to connecting with the organization's efforts and seeing the increase of impact among the girls and families of Kajiado and West Pokot. I would love to connect with you and get to know you! Please feel free to email me at makena@thehumanityshare.org to get connected.
