The progress made throughout 2025 took all of us — volunteers, sponsors, staff, students, and community leaders. This report is a way to say thank you, and to share these stories with our supporters around the world.
Access to water changes everything.
In 2025, community leaders in Olgos saw their years of work come to fruition in the successful completion of their water project, funded in part by your support of The Humanity Share. Over 400 people across 5 countries walked 6K for Water in 2025 (Nairobi walkers pictured above).
Water access improves community. health, increases school attendance, supports construction and agriculture, and creates the foundation for long-term growth. THS water projects specifically are developed in partnership with the communities to ensure water remains a shared asset and can be supported by a trained Water Management Committee. The Olgos water project also created jobs and steady income for entrepreneurs like Harrison Mparng'atian (below) starting water delivery services.
Women and girls in this community will no longer need to walk the average 6 kilometers to access water, and will instead focus their time on rest, work, school, and more.
Confidence comes from quality education and support.
In 2025, we set a 5-year goal to support 200 high school girls in rural Kenya. When we shared about our 2030 vision, supporters like you to helped us achieve that goal early by helping us welcome 100 new girls into the program. By year end, 200 girls were already enrolled in THS programming for the 2026 school year.
As first-generation students, many of these young women, like Norah (below), are navigating major life decisions without the support of parents or community members who have walked the same path before them.

Through conferences, individual mentorship, financial support, and intentional programming, THS is able to deepen its impact by meeting each girl where she is, learning her needs, and providing wraparound support during her academic career.
Growth happens in partnership.
Throughout the year, we had many new opportunities to connect with community leaders, students, and partners around the globe that expanded our work.
Our new Alumni Leadership Council is giving current students access to role models and living testimonies of what is possible.

Across three U.S. states, CEO Kait Ten Harmsel and Kenya Country Director Pastor John Kiroka traveled to speak with supporters and raise funds for education programming at several Built to Thrive events.
Pastor Kiroka shared, "We spend time visiting communities, staying within the villages at people's homes. Together, we implement a chosen solution, and the community owns the project from start to finish. The Humanity Share is a community-led initiative because it begins with their vision, and is why our style of transformation lasts, and makes a difference."
The annual 6K for Water fundraiser expanded to include inaugural locations in Kenya at Kajiado and Nairobi. Women leaders from Olgos and Olenaurau walked 35 kilometers to join the walk in support of water projects in their own communities.
THS also saw volunteer participation expand and revenue increase by 35% in 2025, creating new opportunities for growth.
