ate Caisley is the Program Manager at The Humanity Share. Originally from Grand Rapids, Kate is currently based in Holland, MI. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international development from Calvin University and a master’s in global health from the University at Buffalo.
Kate brings a collaborative and sustainability-focused approach from experience in Kenya, Uganda, Cuba, India, and Ghana. Her background includes monitoring and evaluation, refugee resettlement, peacebuilding, policy impact assessment, and academic research.
Having lived in East Africa, Kate has witnessed both the challenges and the immense potential within communities, particularly through opportunities for women and girls. Her work strengthens structures and processes that support long-term growth and impact, preparing the next generation of leadership while adapting to community partner needs. Kate shines in community-driven programming and translating impact data into clear, compelling stories.
Speaking to what drives her, Kate shared,
“I believe meaningful, sustainable change looks like creating space for people—especially women—to choose their own futures with dignity and agency.”
Kate is committed to advancing The Humanity Share mission by stewarding donor relationships, uplifting community voices, and helping build sustainable, equitable futures alongside the communities we serve. With nearly a decade in international development and global health, she partners closely with the CEO and East Africa–based teams to refine program strategy, inform decision-making through research and benchmarking, and enhance monitoring and evaluation systems. Kate is also eager to explore how AI tools can support ethical, efficient impact while thinking creatively to solve complex problems.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking with her husband, reading, playing the violin, and unwinding with The New York Times Games.
